The Argold 2 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1670 metres on a southeast-facing slope, north of McDame Creek and approximately 3 kilometres northwest of Allan Lake.
The area is underlain by Upper Paleozoic Slide Mountain Complex greenstones (altered basalt).
Locally, volcanic(?) rocks host quartz veins with minor pyrite and associated minor gold values. Rhodonite is also reported in the occurrence area.
In 1984, three chip samples (E4618, E4619 and E4623) assayed 1.8, 0.7 and 1.1 grams per tonne gold over 1.3, 2.3 and 1.0 metres, respectively (Assessment Report 13098).
