The Dennis Creek Placers are located 2 kilometres south of Poorman Lake about 127 kilometres north of the community of Dease Lake.

Placer gold recovered from Dennis Creek, northwest of McDame, probably originated from gold-quartz veins found in metasediments and greenstone of the Sylvester Allochthon (Mississippian-Permian age). The placer was worked from 1876 to 1885, yielding 21 kilograms (751 ounces) of gold (Bulletin 28).
