The Toots 2 occurrence is located south of Amber Lake in the Cassiar Mountains of northwestern British Columbia.
Quartz veins, 10 and 15 centimetres in width, occur in sheared quartz monzonite of the Early Cretaceous Cassiar batholith. The veins contain silver, galena and sphalerite. Sericitic-chloritic alteration is associated with veining. Grab samples assayed up to 487.9 grams per tonne silver, 0.46 per cent lead and 0.16 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 8435).
In 1978, a regional stream sediment and water geochemical reconnaissance program was conducted by the Geological Survey of Canada and the British Columbia Department of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (Open File 561) and the results released in 1979. That same year, the Toots 1-2 claims were staked and prospecting and sampling was carried out; a total of 168 soil samples and 14 rock samples were taken. Additional mineralization was indicated south of the original claims and the Amber 1-6 claims were staked. In 1980, Cassiar Resources Limited completed an exploration program consisting of geological mapping, soil sampling and rock grab sampling in mineralized areas. A short magnetometer survey was also conducted over a projected shear extension; 263 soil samples and 8 rock samples were taken for assay.
