Capsule Geology

The Ben-Glacier showing is south of a glacial meltwater lake, on the east side of Bennett Lake about 70 kilometres west-northwest of Atlin.

At the showing a fracture zone, 2 centimetres wide, cuts fine-grained greywacke of the Lower Jurassic Laberge Group. A quartz vein and other fractures are associated. Mineralization consists of a primary cobalt mineral, pyrite and erythrite stain. A grab sample assayed 6.62 grams per tonne gold, 1.7 grams per tonne silver and 0.37 per cent cobalt (Assessment Report 12554).
