The RTA-2 (Metla Creek Glacier East) occurrence is located near the eastern perimeter of the Metla Creek glacier.

The area is underlain by Mississippian Stikine Assemblage rocks consisting of siltstone, a phyllite, and a breccia/conglomerate unit. These are overlain by volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. Area rocks are intruded by a Triassic quartz dioritic batholith and high-level quartz phyric, felsitic intrusive plutons of the Tertiary Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Suite. Overlying the sediments and batholith are rhyolite and basalt of the Sloko Group of Early Eocene age.

Locally, sheared, magnetite-bearing, diorite and granodiorite hosts gold and silver values.

In 2004, grab samples yielded up to 4.4 grams per tonne gold over 0.3 metre in sample M04S-C05 and up to 784 grams per tonne silver in sample M04A-R142, while a float sample (M04SS-F04) assayed 1.9 per cent copper and 33.5 grams per tonne silver (Wilkins, A.L. (2018-10-20): Technical Report on the Metla Property).

In 2019, Brixton Metals Corporation expanded their Thorn property through staking and acquisition of several claims over their South Target area which contained seven mineral showings including Borge (104K 160), Metla (104K 161), Copper Ridge (104K 173), RTA-2 (104K 193) and a number of new copper showings (the Metarg showings) east of the Metla prospect and from 3 to 8 kilometres west of Tatsamenie Lake.

In 2020 Brixton completed 3,025 metres of drilling within 16 core holes on the new Central Outlaw and West Outlaw zones on their Thorn property. A total of 1473 rock samples and 5588 soil samples were also collected throughout their expanded Thorn property including Metla Target area (Figure 8, Press Release, Brixton Metals Corp., Dec.15, 2020). Five new copper showings (the Metarg showings) were added to the MINFILE database based on the Brixton rock sampling. The Metarg 1 to 5 showings are found east of the Metla prospect, from 3 to 8 kilometres west of Tatsamenie Lake. A number of rock samples were also collected around the RTA-2 area. One sample, 250 metres south of RTA-2, graded 1.2 per cent copper; 2 samples about 600 metres southwest of RTA-2 graded 1.8 per cent copper (Figure 6-15, Press Release, Brixton Metals Corp., Dec.15, 2020). A number of samples taken 850 metres to the southeast of RTA-2 yielded between 0.1 and 1 per cent copper. A group of samples taken about 500 to 1000 metres north-northwest of RTA-2 graded up to 2.4 per cent copper (Figure 6-15, Press Release, Brixton Metals Corp., Dec.15, 2020).
