The Bowser area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group.
The Bowser showing is a poorly exposed recessive zone which strikes 033 degrees with unknown. Rusty, fractured material composed of clay-altered volcanic rock, within a suspected fault, produces the surface expression. Mineralization, exposed in hand trenching across 3.1 meters, appeared to be pyrite with minor amounts of sphalerite and galena. The best selected grab sample yielded 0.98 gram per tonne gold, 27.0 grams per tonne silver, 0.05 per cent copper, 0.066 per cent lead and 0.048 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 19836).
Follow-up mapping and prospecting was conducted along Dry Creek the following year (in 1990) in order to find the northern extension of the showing. Although numerous samples were taken of intense iron-carbonate altered areas and altered dikes, all samples yielded low values.
Work History
In 1980, Du Pont carried out limited geological mapping and prospecting on the property, collecting three rock samples from the area now covered by the Bar 4 claim.
In 1989, Pass Lake Resources Ltd and Golden Sitka Resources Inc. carried out limited geological mapping, prospecting and silt sampling on the Bar 1-8 claims in 1989, taking 20 silt samples and 55 rock samples. The Bowser and Ador showing were discovered
In September 1990, Pass Lake Resources Ltd. and Golden Sitka Resources Inc. carried out further geological mapping, prospecting and silt sampling on the Bar 1-8 claims. In total 33 rock and 8 silt samples were collected. Mapping and prospecting was conducted along Dry Creek this year to find the northern extension of the Bowser showing. Although numerous samples were taken of intense iron-carbonate altered areas and altered dykes, all samples yielded low precious and base metal values.
In 2019 and 2020, Libero Copper and Gold Corp. completed programs of geological mapping; geochemical (rock, soil and talus fines) sampling; a 549 line-kilometre airborne electromagnetic (ZTEM ) survey; three diamond drill holes, totalling 610.0 metres, and 24 reverse-circulation drill holes, totalling 3527.5 metres, on the area as the Big Red property.
