Capsule Geology

The Sunday zone of the Foremore property is predominantly underlain by the Devono-Mississippian Stikine Assemblage.

Mineralization consists of gold and silver rich, heavily disseminated to massive aresenopyrite, galena, sphalerite and pyrite. Mineralization is hosted in parallel zones cutting across the local stratigraphy. There are 3 zones (and possibly a 4th) that are oriented 030 degrees north, dip shallow to moderately to the southeast and have been followed in one zone for 120 metres in subcrop and outcrop. On surface the zones are separated by 80 to 100 metres, although the true thickness between the mineralized structures is much less. Using float, one zone can be traced for 450 metres along strike to the southwest. These mineralized structures are located near a felsic-mafic contact within an overall thicker mafic volcanic package. Limestone is also present in the footwall but not in intimate contact with mineralization. The regional stratigraphy strikes toward the northeast and dips toward the northwest.

One of the parallel zones, southeast of the discovery outcrop, was partially trenched and a 1 metre chip sample yielded 2.21 grams per tonne gold, 119.2 grams per tonne silver, 1.08 per cent zinc, 8.07 per cent lead and 2.46 per cent arsenic (Assessment Report 27398).

Mineralization found to date is interpreted to be associated with the more extensive VMS style mineralization present across the property. More specifically, the Sunday Zone mineralization is present at roughly the same stratigraphic interval as the SG zone (104G 181).

The SBF (South Boulder Field) Area is a defined by a 3 kilometre long zone of magnetic anomalies extending from the floor of the Hanging Valley down into the lower valley to include the South Boulder Field. These magnetic anomalous areas do not exhibit rock outcrop. A soil geochemical survey over a 1.0 kilometre long section of the zone has identified arsenic, lead, zinc and copper anomalies over strong magnetic features. The Sunday occurrence lies within the zone.

Work History

In 2002, Roca optioned the Foremore Property and staked additional mineral claims. Equity Engineering Ltd. of Vancouver was contracted to carry out a program of mapping, prospecting and geochemical sampling on the property.

In 2003, Roca cored 11 drill holes in 1,121 metres.

In 2004, Roca carried out property scale prospecting, ground geophysical surveys and cored 37 drill holes totalling 5900 metres.

In 2005, Roca cored 4 drill holes totalling 2,033 metres and completed geological mapping, rock and soil sampling surveys. In August a 700-line kilometre helicopter supported airborne magnetometer and electromagnetic survey was flown over 50 per cent of the Property. The integration of new and historic data into the MapInfo platform was initiated.

In late August 2006, the Property was flown for orthophotography.

In 2007, Roca carried out a detailed mapping program in the Hanging Valley. A total of 149 rock and 231 soil samples were submitted for chemical analysis (Assessment Report 29475). Mineralized areas discussed include SG (104G 181), Antler, Zig Zag, Boulder and Heather. At least one sample was taken in the SG area.

In 2008, Roca conducted a program included gridding in four areas totalling 78.0 line kilometres. A total of 52.6 line kilometres of Induced Polarization (IP) surveys and 57.7 line kilometres of Total Field Ground Magnetometer surveys were completed. In addition, 3,299.4 metres of drilling was completed in 13 holes from which 890 samples were submitted for analytical work. During the course of geological mapping a total of 301 rock and 197 soil samples were submitted for chemical analysis. Mapping occurred in several areas including the HV/SBF, Roca Flats, Ryder, Westmore and Antler areas. One bedrock grab sample (926005) of heterolithic felsic agglomerate located 500 m west of the SG showing yielded 0.75 per cent copper (Assessment Report 30246).

Field work during 2011 by Roca consisted prospecting and geochemical sampling. This work concentrated on the hillside around the SG zone, a gold-rich volcanic hosted massive sulphide showing. The 2011 work involved collecting 818 soil samples at 25 metres spacing along the northwest slope of the hanging valley in an attempt to locate the source to the South Boulder Field an area comprised of sulphide-rich boulders and blocks that carry base and precious metal mineralization. Dispersion patterns of elements in soil indicated a large anomalous area below the SG showing and down slope from the Sunday showing.

In 2019, Sassy Resources Corp. completed a program of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical sampling on the area as part of the Foremore property. Two outcrop grab samples (1291903 and B0020656) from the Sunday occurrence area yielded values of up to 5.51 grams per tonne gold, 70.9 grams per tonne silver, 2.20 per cent copper and 4.17 per cent lead (Sassy Resources Corporation [2019-12-31]: Amended Independent Technical Report - Foremore Au-Ag-Cu-Zn-Pb Property, British Columbia).

See Foremore (104G 148) for further details and earlier work history of the Foremore property.
