Three stratigraphic assemblages have been mapped in the area: (1) Upper Palaeozoic sediments and volcanics of the Stikine Assemblage, (2) clastic sediments of the Triassic Stuhini Group, and (3) Lower Jurassic sediments and volcanics of the Hazelton Group.

Four plutonic suites intrude the above; (1) Late Triassic calc-alkaline intrusions coeval with Stuhini Group stratigraphy, (2) Jurassic Copper Mtn, (3) Jurassic Texas Creek and (4) Tertiary Coast Plutonic suite.

In 1984 a bulldozer investigation of coincident geochemical and geophysical anomalies uncovered a sedimentary hosted silver-lead-zinc deposit called the Two Barrel. This new zone was traced along the flats on the west side of Johnny Mountain for about 155 metres in one area and about 52 metres in another.

In 1984, mineralization comprising pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena was uncovered in altered Upper Triassic sediments. A sample from this showing assayed 0.31 gram per tonne gold, 183.77 grams per tonne silver with 50.0 per cent lead and 9.7 per cent zinc (Skyline Explorations Ltd., Reg Project 1984 Promotional Brochure).

The Two Barrel is one of several showings in the area that occur near the northwest end of the airstrip in argillites and wackes with very minor calcareous sections; the other showings include Silver Tip, Zinc Trench, Windsock, Black Cat (Assessment Report 29673). All are high sulphide veins controlled by a strong northwest shear direction. All veins are less than a metre in width and pinch to much narrower widths over short distances. Variable amounts of clay alteration and minor quartz veins are associated. Gold grades are low. Four holes drilled in the area as well as trenches over the showings failed to produce any high gold values and only anomalous Zn with a few silver values to a high of 89.14 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 29673). Very few anomalous MMI soil values occur in the area with no discernible pattern. All these showings lie within the area of numerous northwest trending EM anomalies.
