The Monten area is underlain predominantly by north striking, west dipping andesitic tuffs, agglomerates and minor flows of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation (Hazelton Group). In the area of the 2017, the predominant rock type intersected consisted of a highly sericite-altered light grey intrusive, possibly granodiorite.
In 2017, a total of 230.79 metres of diamond drilling was completed in 2 holes on the north central portion of the Silver Crown 6 property by Decade Resources Ltd. Drilling by Decade intersected highly pyritic intrusive, possibly granodiorite intruded into red volcaniclastic (andesite) rocks of the Unuk River Formation, Hazelton Group. The intrusive rock contained disseminated pyrite mineralization as well as veins and stringers of pyrite.
Drilling intersected gold values ranging up to 0.057 gram per tonne, silver values ranging up to 23.7 grams per tonne, copper values up to 0.062 per cent, lead values up to 0.059 per cent and zinc values to 0.324 per cent (Assessment Report 37214).
The Silver Crown property is under option to Decade Resources from Teuton Resources and Silver Grail Resources. See Montrose 104A 033) for details of work history in the same region as the Monten.
