The exact location of the Bear Pass Mining showing is not known. The showing is reported to lie at an elevation of 457 metres on the south side of Strohn Creek, about 4.8 kilometres east of the Bear River Pass.

The area is underlain by north(?) striking, steeply dipping andesites(?) of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation (Hazelton Group). Small stocks of feldspar porphyry intrude the volcanics.

Several silicified zones carrying quartz stringers and minor pyrite, sphalerite and galena occur in greenstone. A chip sample from the 7.6 metre wide, north trending main zone assayed trace gold and 82.3 grams per tonne silver across 2.4 metres (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1928).

The Bear Pass Mining Syndicate held the property in 1928. Exploration work consisted of opencutting and two short adits.
