The Westkit showing is located 45 kilometres southeast of Stewart and 30 kilometres north of Kitsault and Alice Arm at the head of Alice Arm Inlet.
The occurrence area is underlain by Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group rocks that form a northwest striking sequence of anticlines and synclines. Andesite tuffs are the youngest of the volcanic rocks, forming a ridge on the northeastern side of the property. To the west they are underlain by intermediate volcanic breccias and conglomerates, siltstone and sandstone of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group.
Arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite are locally observed with associated pyrite in quartz veins and shears in andesitic tuffs. A rock sample (36771) from an altered (sericite-clay-limonite) shear with up to 20 per cent pyrite assayed 1.1 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 21174).
In 1990, work on behalf of Santa Marina Gold Ltd. entailed reconnaissance mapping, prospecting, rock and silt sampling during which a total of 48 grab rock samples and 10 silt samples were collected.
During 2010 through 2019, Dolly Silver Corporation explored the area as apart of the Dolly Varden property. A complete property exploration history can be found at the Dolly Varden (MINFILE 103P 188) occurrence.
