The BF showing is located in the upper reaches of Ohl Creek, east of Hastings Arm, about 42 kilometres southeast of Stewart.
Most of the BF showing area is underlain by volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Jurassic Hazelton Group except the western edge, which is underlain by a part of a large granodiorite pluton of the Eocene Coast Plutonic Complex. Immediately east of the granodiorite is a feldspar porphyritic, green-grey andesite. Sedimentary rocks occur in a central band that occurs where Ohl Creek splits into its three main tributaries. The rocks consist of well bedded and locally sheared siltstone and shale. Irregular quartz veins are caught up in shearing and there is gossanous hornfels locally. Minor conglomerate or volcaniclastic rocks are also present within the section, locally altered with 1-3 per cent pyrite and quartz-chlorite-pyrite veining.
The rocks are very sparsely altered and mineralized overall. Local carbonatization and quartz-carbonate veining in the volcanic rocks, primarily seen in float samples, is probably related to discrete structures. This style of mineralization is characterized by disseminated pyrite along fractures and in veins. Anomalous gold results in rock samples are commonly but not consistently associated with elevated values for silver, copper and lead. A select high-grade sample from a pyritic quartz-chlorite vein exposed in flat outcrop at the confluence of a side creek and hosted in porphyritic andesite, yielded 0.717 gram per tonne gold and 3.1 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 31418).
In 2009, MAX Minerals Ltd. carried out a program of geological mapping, prospecting and silt sampling on their Hastings Arm Project which covers the WKR, BF and Hit blocks of claims.
2018 exploration works on the Golddigger property by Goliath Resources Ltd. focused on areas east of Hastings Arm, including the BF area. Highlights include discoveries of multiple breccias, stockworks, and veins containing high grade gold and polymetallic mineralization. Exploration focused on extensive areas of recent glacial and snowpack abatement. Both an airborne magnetics survey and a LiDAR survey were completed on the property. The magnetic data shows multiple linear magnetic low breaks. One hundred and seven (107) chip/grab samples and twenty-one (21) channel samples were collected during the 2018 field season (Assessment Report 37783).
Goliath Resources Ltd.'s 2019 exploration focused on NW-SE magnetic linear breaks resulting in the new Surebet discovery approximately 2 kilometres northwest of the BF showing (Assessment Report 38979).
