The Ajax-Rex showing is located just east of the south fork of Glacier Creek, 6.5 kilometres northeast of Stewart. The former Mobile mine (103P 069) is located immediately to the east.

Early exploration in the area dates back to 1910. In 2006, Auramex Resources Corp. conducted a program of geochemical surveys in the area, as part of their Bear property.

The showing consists of a 7.6 metre wide gossanous fracture zone in the northwestern margin of a Tertiary(?) augite diorite stock (Coast Plutonic Complex). The stock intrudes argillite of the Middle Jurassic Salmon River Formation (Hazelton Group). The zone strikes west, dips north and contains abundant pyrite, sphalerite and minor galena in a 1.5 to 1.8 metre wide section near the hangingwall.

In 1911, the Pacific Coast Exploration Co. completed 106 metres of tunnel and 18 metres of shaft on the Rex snd Ajax claims.
