The Keap Creek South occurrence is located on a ridge to the east of Keap Creek, approximately 3.8 kilometres south-southeast of its creek mouth on Kleanza Creek, 26 kilometres east of Terrace, B.C.

The area is underlain by conglomerate, andesitic breccia and lapilli tuff of the Upper Triassic Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group) and limestone to cherty-limestone of the Permian Ambition Formation. These have been intruded by granites and granodiorites of the Early Jurassic Kleanza Plutonic Suite.

Locally, volcanic rocks host chalcopyrite, bornite and possible tetrahedrite mineralization.

In 2005, a sample (05-TB-45-02) taken by the British Columbia Geological Survey assayed 2232 grams per tonne silver, 1.123 per cent copper, 1.280 per cent lead and 1.094 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 30900). In 2010, two samples (KC 29-10 and KC 30-10) yielded values of greater than 100 grams per tonne silver and up to 0.326 per cent copper, respectively (Assessment Report 31853).

During 2008 through 2013, Casa Minerals Inc. completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling and ground magnetometer surveys on the area as the Pitman property. In 2014, Abcana Capital Inc. entered into an agreement with Casa Minerals to acquire the Pitman property. During 2015 through 2017, Abcana and Casa Minerals completed programs of prospecting, reconnaissance geological mapping, and soil and rock sampling on the Pitman property.

In 2018 Casa Minerals had a structural analysis completed on the Keaper property using newly available satellite imagery, and in 2019 a total of 273 line-kilometres of EM (VTEM) was flown over the expanded Keaper property.
