The Papa occurrence is located approximately 1.6 kilometres north-northwest of Holberg.
The area is underlain by Upper Triassic Vancouver Group Karmutsen Formation dark blue or green amygdaloidal andesite that quite often displays pillows or pillow fragments, and varicoloured volcaniclastics of the Upper Triassic Bonanza Group Parson Bay Formation.
Locally, an amygdaloidal andesite hosts quartz-zeolite veins with traces of bornite and chalcopyrite.
In 1991, a grab sample returned a value of 0.081 per cent copper (sample 60704; Assessment Report 21732).
Work History
Between 1968 and 1970, the area was explored as a part of Hol claims by Nicola Lake Mining. Regional programs of geochemical and geophysical surveys were completed at that time. In 1991, Universal Trident completed a program of prospecting on the SJ and Papa claims. In 2018 and 2019, MK2 Ventures Ltd. and District Metals Corp. completed programs of prospecting, geological and structural mapping, geochemical (rock, soil, and stream sediment) sampling and an 804 line-kilometre airborne geophysical (VTEM) survey on the area as the Bakar property.
