The AAA 6 occurrence is located in the southeastern headwaters of the Strandby River, approximately 5.0 kilometres north-northwest of the community of Holberg.

The area is underlain by Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group) volcanics that have undergone regional zeolite facies metamorphism. The volcanics trend northwest and consist mainly of massive, green to purple, amygdaloidal basalt.

Locally, bornite and malachite are disseminated within narrow quartz-filled fractures in massive green to purple, amygdaloidal basalt.

Work History

In 1969, Spartan Explorations Ltd. completed a program of soil sampling and geological mapping on the area as the AAA 1-50 claims. In 1973, Cities Services Minerals Corp. completed an induced polarization survey on the area as the Pup claims. In 1990, Consolidated T.C. Resources Ltd. completed a program of soil sampling on the area as the Stran claims. In 2018 and 2019, MK2 Ventures Ltd. and District Metals Corp. completed programs of prospecting, geological and structural mapping, geochemical (rock, soil, and stream sediment) sampling and an 804 line-kilometre airborne geophysical (VTEM) survey on the area as the Bakar property.
