The ERIC (Bonanza South) occurrence, on the Ranch property (Toodoggone Gold Camp), is located about 1.3 kilometres east of the AL (Thesis II/III) past producer (094E 091) approximately 295 kilometres north of Smithers.

The Eric zone is located along the Bonanza fault system, about 980 metres south of the Bonanza deposit (094E 079). The area is underlain by andesitic volcanic rock of the Lower Jurassic Toodoggone Formation (Hazelton Group). The Adoogacho and Metsantan members comprise the Toodoggone Formation in this area. The Adoogacho Member consists of trachydacite ash-flow tuff with lenses of lapilli tuff, rare marlstone, and conglomerate near the base. The Metsantan Member is composed mainly of trachyandesite (latite) flows with lenses of lapilli tuff, and lahar; minor volcanic sandstone and conglomerate (Bulletin 86). The Metsantan Member, in part, directly overlies the basal Adoogacho Member and is also in fault contact with it.

Trench TA88-19, at the south end of the Eric zone, yielded a mineralized interval of 5.25 grams per tonne gold over 13 metres (Bowen, 2012). Drillholes 88-39 to 41 tested the Eric zone directly below this trench. Broken ground resulted in holes 88-39 and 40 being terminated prematurely. Hole 88-39, the shallower of the two holes, entered the pyrite plus/minus chalcopyrite-bearing siliceous host rock at about 11 metres and was terminated at a depth of 17.1 metres. Low-grade gold values, from 0.60 to 1.55 grams per tonne, were encountered in this interval (Bowen, 2012). Hole 88-40 yielded no significant values, nor did hole 88-41, which successfully penetrated through the siliceous host rock at a vertical depth of about 50 metres below surface. It is thought possible that holes 88-40 and 41 were drilled beneath a south plunging mineralized shoot which was encountered in the surface trench and hole 88-39.

About 200 metres east of the Eric zone is the Gosselin zone, where blebs of barite have been found associated with silica-altered rock, however, surface gold values in trenches have been found to be low. The Gosselin zone is probably a left-lateral offset segment of the Bonanza structure.

In 1988, three NQ diamond-drill holes totaling 145 metres were drilled on the Eric zone by Energex Minerals Ltd.

From 2020 through 2023, Thesis Gold Inc. completed programs of prospecting, mapping, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, ground and airborne geophysical surveys, re-logging/re-sampling of historical drill core, and extensive digitization and compilation of existing exploration data on their Ranch property. From 2021 to 2023, 368 diamond drill holes, totaling 68,481.6 metres were completed on the Ranch property, with the majority of the drilling targeting the major prospects of Bonanza, Ridge, Bingo, Thesis II, Thesis III, JK and Eric. Metallurgical testing and environmental monitoring/baseline and geotechnical studies and infrastructure upgrading were also initiated during this period, along with First Nations consultations. Drilling at the major prospects on the Ranch property expanded the known mineralized zones along strike and at depth.

On the Eric (Bonanza South) prospect (2021 to 2023), 10 diamond drill holes were completed for a total of 2,274 metres and 15 reverse-circulation (RC) holes (2,755 metres) were drilled in 2021. A highlight from Thesis Gold's 2021 drilling at Eric was a 19.81 metre intercept grading 1.3 grams per tonne gold and 1.31 grams per tonne silver from 27.43 to 47.24 metres downhole in DDH 21ERCRC001, confirming shallow, low-grade mineralization. In addition, broad, low-grade values were intersected in 8 holes 110 to 212 metres vertically below surface (Assessment Report 40428). In 2023, four holes at Eric intersected favourable vuggy silica alteration, however only one hole returned significant grades. Drill hole 23ERCDD003 intersected 0.21 grams per tonne gold, 0.94 grams per tonne silver and 0.19 per cent copper over 3.93 metres (Assessment Report 41940).

In August 2023, Benchmark Metals Inc. merged with Thesis Gold Inc., joining the Lawyer Project, located in similar Toodoggone Formation rocks to the southeast, with Thesis Gold's Ranch Project.

A NI 43-101 & 43-101F1 Technical Report and Updated Mineral Reserve Estimate of the Lawyer-Ranch Gold-Silver Project was prepared for Thesis Gold Inc. by P & E Mining Consultants Inc. in May 2024 and an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) was completed for the Lawyers-Ranch Project by JDS Energy & Mining Inc. effective August 30, 2024.

In 2024, drilling at the Ranch property was designed to advance engineering and environmental baseline studies in preparation for a Prefeasibility Study led by Ausenco Engineering Canada ULC and Mining Plus Canada Consulting Ltd. with 2,226 metres of drilling focused on geotechnical and hydrogeological studies (Thesis Gold Inc. Press Release Feb. 18, 2025).

See Bonanza (094E 079) for details of the Ranch (Al) property which contains the Eric showing and discusses the work done on it.
