The Gulley occurrence is located about 2 kilometres north-northeast of the AL (Thesis II/III) past producer (094E 091) approximately 297 kilometres north of Smithers.

The Gulley zone, which Kidd Creek Mining (previously Texasgulf) referred to as the “Sulphide showing” in the early 1980s, is located about 625 metres north of the Bonanza zone (094E 079). The showing is underlain by andesitic volcanic rock of the Lower Jurassic Toodoggone Formation (Hazelton Group). The Adoogacho and Metsantan members comprise the Toodoggone Formation in the area. The Adoogacho Member consists of trachydacite ash-flow tuff with lenses of lapilli tuff, rare marlstone, and conglomerate near the base. The Metsantan Member is composed mainly of trachyandesite (latite) flows with lenses of lapilli tuff, and lahar; minor volcanic sandstone and conglomerate (Bulletin 86). The Metsantan Member, in part, directly overlies the basal Adoogacho Member and is also in fault contact with it.

The Gulley zone consists of a northeast-trending band of weak silicification and quartz veining which has been traced by trenching over a distance of about 120 metres. Minor pyrite and base metals consisting of chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite mineralization are present in the zone. Gold grades from grab samples range up to 5.6 grams per tonne (Bowen, 2012). The zone appears to pinch out along strike to the northeast and southwest. Energex Minerals Ltd. (1988) considered this zone to be a lower priority target area but did note its significance in that it represents yet another gold-bearing structure on the property.

See Bonanza (094E 079) for details of the Ranch (Al) property which contains the Gulley showing.
