The JD-Cirque occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1850 metes on a ridge separating a major cirque to the north and a steep creek valley to the south, approximately 3 kilometres north east of Kadah Lake.
The area is underlain by a thick succession of Lower Jurassic volcanics of the Toodoggone Formation, Hazelton Group.
Locally, an agglomerate with calcite and vein stockwork less than 15 centimetres wide is mineralized with up to 5 per cent galena, 1 per cent chalcopyrite and traces of sphalerite with some malachite.
In 1994, a high-grade grab sample (145546) analysed 4.01 grams per tonne gold, 1939 grams per tonne silver, 0.056 per cent copper, 0.824 per cent lead and 0.917 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 23663).
The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby JD-Finn (MINFILE 094E 171) occurrence and a complete exploration history can be found there.
