The L Vein is located in a cirque basin north of Goldway Creek, approximately 1 kilometre west of the northern extent of the Bruce (94D 013) veins (D and E veins) (Assessment Report 21394). This occurrence is related to the Bruce veins.
The veins are hosted in the Early Jurassic Goldway stock (Assessment Report 21394). This intrusion predominantly consists of diorite and quartz diorite.
Six talus samples consisting of quartz vein material proximal to source were sampled. These samples were determined to have been derived from veins immediately up-slope from the talus. Widths are not known, although one sample was measured at 50 centimetres. One of these (proximal to source) samples, consisted of rusty quartz with pyrite and chalcopyrite; this sample assayed 3.97 grams per tonne gold, 12.1 grams per tonne and 0.4 per cent copper (Sample PS116, Assessment Report 21394). The other 5 samples contained anomalous gold.
Work History
In 1990, Jetta Resources conducted work on the M Veins and Phyllite Veins (094D 027). Work consisted of further sampling of the known vein occurrences as well as prospecting of the surrounding area. Three to four persons were on the property for twelve days. Part of the program was to re-trench and resample the A-vein. During this process, the location of the previous sampling by White and Campbell (Minister of Mines Annual Report, 1947) and Phendler (Assessment Report 11636, 13175) was attempted. Prospecting over much of the claims was undertaken, with the exception of the northern portions of Solo 1 and 3.
