The Lonely occurrence is located about 12.5 kilometres west-northwest of Aiken Lake approximately 110 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

At the Lonely showing, diorite and gabbro of a Jurassic or older intrusion (Late Triassic to Early Jurassic Aiken Lake Intrusive Complex) has intruded metatuffs(?) of the Upper Triassic Plughat Mountain Formation (Takla Group). Malachite and pyrite occur on some fracture surfaces in diorite, and a gabbroic pegmatite contains fine grained white veins locally rich in malachite and pyrite (Fieldwork 1992). In 1992, a sample of the pegmatitic material analyzed 1.70 per cent copper, 0.11 gram per tonne gold and 7 grams per tonne silver (Open File 1993-2, Map Number 31).
