Capsule Geology

The Rem occurrence is located on the north bank of Haha Creek, 5 kilometres from its confluence with the Osilinka River, about 55 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

Disseminated chalcopyrite, pyrite, and rarely bornite are hosted in the Early Jurassic Duckling Creek Syenite Complex, a phase of the Early Jurassic Hogem Plutonic Suite. Mineralization is associated with syenite, monzonite and diorite. Propylitic and potassic alteration is present in the area.

In 1973-75, Union Miniere Explorations and Mining Corporation Limited conducted geological, magnetic, and geochemical surveys and followed up with diamond drilling four holes totalling 477.3 metres on their Rem mineral claims. In a 1975 drillhole (T17), a monzonite hosting a quartz vein containing traces of galena was intersected (Assessment Report 5751).

In 2008-09, D.K. Bragg completed prospecting and a limited ground magnetometer survey on the DK 1-3 claims. During 2008, prospecting and two rock samples, one soil sample, and five silt samples were collected. In 2009, a magnetometer survey along existing roads was conducted to see if there was a magnetic signature from the Osilinka fault and the HaHa fault. Stations were measured along the roads every 25 metres and a total of 4425 metres of line were established with a total of 179 individual stations.

In 2012, Tajiri Resource Corp. conducted a helicopter supported property-wide reconnaissance geochemical investigation of their OGK property which covers the Hogem Copper (094C 050), Rem and Flame (093N 176) showings. A total of 68 rock, 112 stream sediment, and 383 soil samples were collected and submitted for assay. A helicopter supported airborne geophysical survey consisting of magnetics, VLF/EM, and radiometric surveys over four blocks totalling 505 line-kilometres was also completed.
