The Lynn occurrence is located 6.5 kilometres north of the south end of Nakinilerak Lake, about 85 kilometres northeast of the community of Smithers.
A hydrothermally altered biotite feldspar porphyry stock, or dike swarm, of the Eocene Babine Plutonic Suite cuts mafic volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group). The stock is mineralized with chalcopyrite and magnetite near the contact with an intrusive breccia zone. A pyrite halo is developed in the volcanic rocks around the stock.
In 1971, Ducanex Resources Limited and Twin Peak Mines Ltd. conducted reconnaissance induced polarization, ground magnetic, and soil surveys on their Lynn claims. A total of 16 kilometres of grid was established and surveyed with induced polarization and magnetometer; 260 soil samples were collected plus a few silt samples. In 1972, diamond drilling in three holes totalling 177 metres was conducted on the Lynn 3 and 4 claims. In 1973, diamond drilling in five holes totalling approximately 305 metres was completed on the Lynn 3 claim.
