Capsule Geology

The Ridge occurrence area is underlain by moderately southwest dipping andesitic to rhyolitic flows and pyroclastics of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group). These rocks have been intruded by a large granitic to porphyritic body of the Early Cretaceous McCauley Island Plutonic Suite; the adjacent and overlying volcanics are silicified and pyritic. Three major north-northeast trending fault structures cut across the property.

The Ridge showing is exposed on the side of a fault depression and is characterized by quartz-pyrite vein mineralization and silicification of andesitic wallrock. The exposed portion of the vein is approximately 1 metre wide. Grab samples from the vein analysed up to 7.6 grams per tonne gold and 25.5 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 20391, page 4).

Work History

See the Jewelry Box showing (093L 321) for related information on the Emerson, Echo and Jewelry Box properties that were held and worked primarily from 1987 to 2012.

The 2012 International Samuel Exploration Corp completed a 548 line kilometers of Heliborne High Resolution Aeromagnetic Survey which covered the Ridge and a number of other showings including: Jewelry Box (093L 321), Number 51 (093L 051), B (093L 048), Lunlik (093L 240) and Erin (093L 298). IP work was completed in the Ridge from 2010 and 2012.

In late 2018 and early 2019, Shamrock Enterprises Inc. conducted an aeromagnetic survey on the area as the Stellar property. This work identified four priority areas, referred to as the Big Dipper, Cassiopeia, Orion and Lynx zones, for ground-based exploration.

In 2019, Aurwest Resources Corp. conducted an aeromagnetic survey over the Stellar property. In 2021, Aurwest completed prospecting, geochemical sampling, and an Induced Polarization survey on the Stellar property.
