The area of the Pro occurrence is underlain by north trending belts of Jurassic Hazelton group rock and Permian to Triassic rock of Takla (Stuhini) or Asitka groups. These rocks are intruded by quartz monzonite to granodiorite of the Spike Peak Intrusive Suite.
Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group rocks consisting of andesitic pyroclastics with associated argillaceous and siliceous sedimentary rocks are intruded by quartz diorite and associated diorite. Traces of chalcopyrite and molybdenite were found as disseminations and fracture fillings in the intrusive as well as 1.0 to 3.0 per cent pyrite.
Work History
In 1973, Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd conducted an exploration program on their PRO claims. This program consisted of mapping, 18 kilometres of ground magnetometer surveying, 22 kilometres of induced polarization geophysical surveying, geochemical surveying and three diamond drill holes totalling 500 metres on the Pro 1 and 3 claims.
In 2012, an aeromagnetic program was conducted over the Flute and Lannac properties by Riverside Resources (BC) Inc. The total covered area was 813 km2 and the total survey line coverage was 4,444 line kilometres (Assessment Report 33032, 33707F). The Pro occurrence was covered by this survey.
