The Copley Extension occurrence is located near the western shore of Rognaas Lake.
The area is primarily underlain by felsic volcanic rocks of the Eocene Ootsa Lake Formation, including crystal tuff, lapilli tuff, flow banded rhyolite, volcanic breccias, and some porphyritic andesite.
Locally, clay altered and silicified rhyolites to dacites host quartz veins with pyrite, specularite and limonite staining.
Work History
During 2009 through 2013, F. Critchlow of Kootenay Gold Inc. acquired the property and subsequently completed programs of rock geochemistry and prospecting. Two rock samples (Sak12-218 and Sak12-219) assayed 2.565 and 3.661 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 33581).
In 2017, Glen Prior completed a small rock sampling program on the property adjacent to the occurrence. The sampling was completed approximately 400 metres to the west of the Copley Extension occurrence. Highlighted results included sample 17RG1002, which graded 0.43 grams per tonne gold, and sample 17RG1003, which graded 2.1 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 37440).
