The Silver Boss occurrence is located in the headwaters of Moffat Creek at an elevation of approximately 1980 metres and north of Big Timothy Mountain.

Regionally, the area is underlain by gabbroic to dioritic rocks of the Buster Lake unit and granodioritic intrusive rocks of the Boss Creek and Schoolhouse Lake units of the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic Takomkane Batholith, which have intruded basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group. These have in turn been intruded and are locally overlain near the summit of Big Timothy Mountain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Pleistocene Wells Gray volcanics.

Locally, at the main Silver Boss zone, a 0.5- to 2.0-metre wide zone of faulted, sheared, brecciated and altered granodiorite (Boss Creek unit) hosts a vuggy quartz, breccia and stockwork quartz vein system with pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, galena and sphalerite. Scheelite and molybdenite mineralization have been identified in float and/or subcrop. The sheared and quartz-veined zone strikes north 45 degrees east and dips steeply to the southeast with individual veins varying from 2 to 20 centimetres in width with mineralization typically associated or proximal to andesite dikes. Alteration minerals include chlorite, epidote, sericite, clay, limonite, malachite and azurite. The mineralized zone has been traced along strike for approximately 350 metres.

Prior to 1920, a picked sample of ‘ore’ from the shaft is reported to have yielded 11.6 grams per tonne gold, 684.0 grams per tonne silver, 2.0 per cent copper, 25.0 per cent lead and 20.0 per cent zinc, whereas a sample taken north of the shaft assayed 72.8 grams per tonne gold, 1026 grams per tonne silver with 18.5 per cent copper (Property File - Exeter Mines Ltd. In 1966, a sample of dump material from the shaft assayed 0.7 gram per tonne gold, 581.4 grams per tonne silver and 3.02 per cent copper (Property File - Exeter Mines Ltd. [1970-06-10]: Prospectus Report on the Big Timpthy Mountain Project - Silverboss, S.B. and Gus Claims).

In 1968, a grab sample taken from the shaft area assayed 9.6 grams per tonne gold, 231.2 grams per tonne silver and 6.50 per cent copper (Property File - Exeter Mines Ltd. [1970-06-10]: Prospectus Report on the Big Timpthy Mountain Project - Silverboss, S.B. and Gus Claims).

In 1984, a sample (1357) from the adit dump assayed 3.7 grams per tonne gold, 619.0 grams per tonne silver and 11.95 per cent copper (Property File - E. Trent Pezzot [1985-04]: Notes, Letter and Claim Maps - Big Timothy Mountain).

In 1993, seven rock samples collected over 1.0 metre of an old trench (No. 4) yielded values up to 2.26 grams per tonne gold and 37.6 grams per tonne silver, whereas samples of rubble from trench dumps yielded up to 9.65 grams per tonne gold, 628.6 grams per tonne silver and 3.49 per cent copper (Assessment Report 23677).

In 1994, sampling of former trenches yielded up to 9.41 grams per tonne gold, 514.6 grams per tonne silver and 1.84 per cent copper from a 25-centimetre wide quartz-sulphide vein in trench 8; 4.26 grams per tonne gold and 64.6 grams per tonne silver over 0.5 metre in trench 4 and 3.18 per cent copper, 390.4 grams per tonne silver with 0.22 gram per tonne gold over 0.5 metre in trench 10 (Assessment Report 23677).

In 2004, a select grab sample from the Silver Boss shaft dump assayed 6.7 per cent copper, 443.0 grams per tonne silver and 2.92 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 27755).

Another zone of mineralization, referred to as the East Breccia zone, is located approximately 300 metres east of the Silver Boss shaft in the headwaters of 10 Mile Creek and at an elevation of approximately 1980 metres. The zone comprises a strongly epidote-altered hornblende diorite breccia hosting quartz veins with chalcopyrite, pyrite and specularite. The veins strike 146 degrees and dip steeply to the northeast.

Prior to 1920, a sample taken approximately 450 metres east and 270 metres below the shaft, presumably from the area of the East Breccia zone, assayed 16.6 grams per tonne gold and 136.8 grams per tonne silver across a 1.2-metre shear zone (Property File - Exeter Mines Ltd. [1970-06-10]: Prospectus Report on the Big Timpthy Mountain Project - Silverboss, S.B. and Gus Claims).

In 1995, a select grab sample (DR12) of vein material assayed 1.241 grams per tonne gold, 41.4 grams per tonne silver and 2.48 per cent copper, whereas a chip sample of altered wallrock assayed 0.218 gram per tonne gold over 2.0 metres (Assessment Report 24208).

On the Peridot claim, located near the summit of Big Timothy Mountain, olive-green–coloured crystalline mineral, up to 3 millimetres long and tentatively identified as chrysolite (olivine), occurs in amygdaloidal cavities in a basaltic lava. Associated with the chrysolite is a yellow to brick-red mineral, tentatively identified as stilbite.

The Silver Boss occurrence was reported first explored in 1915 and has been historically explored in conjunction with the nearby Boss Mountain (MINFILE 093A 001) past-producing mine. A series of trenches, pits and opencuts with a shaft and two adits were developed during 1915 through 1917.

In 1966, the Duval Corp. examined the property. During 1969 through 1971, Exeter Mines completed a program of prospecting, geological mapping, soil sampling, a 41.0 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey and five diamond drill holes, totalling 598.4 metres, on the area as the Gus, SB and Silver Boss claims. Drilling is reported to have intercepted ‘considerable’ chalcopyrite in a diorite host from holes nos. 4 and 5 near the Gus (MINFILE 093A 020) occurrence, whereas scattered pyrite and chalcopyrite were reported from the other three holes near the Silver Boss shaft and adit. No assays are known for the drillholes.

Also, in 1970 and 1971, Virgo Explorations (Cyprus Mines Ltd.) completed programs of soil sampling and a magnetometer survey on the area. In 1984, Enfield Resources Inc. examined the property.

During 1993 through 1995, the area was prospected and sampled as the Silver Boss and Peridote claims by Pioneer Metals Corp. In 2000, the area was prospected by D.W. Ridley.

During 2004 through 2014, Happy Creek Minerals carried out programs of prospecting;geological mapping; 34.2 line-kilometres of 3D induced polarization and magnetic geophysical surveying and stream sediment, soil and rock geochemical surveys on the area as the Silverboss property.
