The Zed (Sue) occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 870 metres on a small knoll north of Suey Bay on Horsefly Lake.
Regionally, the area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks and marine sedimentary rocks, which form the lowest part of the volcanic stratigraphy of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group of the eastern Quesnel Belt. To the southeast ,the Nicola Group rocks have been intruded by a body of Cretaceous intermediate composition intrusive. To the northeast, serpentinite ultramafic rocks of the Upper Paleozoic Crooked amphibolite and metasediments of the Neoproterozoic to Paleozoic Snowshoe Group are exposed.
Locally, a quartz diorite hosts chalcopyrite, bornite, pyrrhotite, pyrite, malachite, azurite and pyrolusite mineralization associated with quartz and calcite in a 3.75-metre wide fracture or shear zone striking north 60 degrees west and dipping steeply north. Disseminated and fracture-filling chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite are also reported in the area associated with volcanics and sediments near the intrusive contacts.
A malachite-stained hornblende diorite is reported approximately 2 kilometres to the southeast, across Suey Bay.
In 1966, channel sampling is reported to have yielded up to 2.22 per cent copper and 39.0 grams per tonne silver over 2.1 metres (Property File - Northwind Mines Ltd. [1972-03-08]: Report on the P (1-20) Mineral Claims). Later the same year, samples from the malachite-stained hornblende diorite, located to the southeast, yielded up to 0.27 per cent copper (Property File - Mastodon Highland Bell Mines [1967-02-15]: Report - Cariboo project 1966 - Mastodon Highland Bell Mines).
In 1971, a channel sample yielded 1.56 per cent copper and 13.7 grams per tonne silver over 3.15 metres (Property File - Northwind Mines Ltd. [1972-03-08]: Report on the P (1-20) Mineral Claims).
In 1982, past samples were reported to have assayed 2.23 per cent copper, 20.9 grams per tonne silver and 0.27 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 10442).
In 1991, past samples were reported to have yielded up to 2.33 per cent copper, 22.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.41 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 22098).
In 1964, a program of geological mapping, soil sampling and a ground electromagnetic survey was completed on the area as the Sue claims. Further prospecting and sampling was completed in 1966. In 1967, Magnum Consolidated Mining Co. Ltd. completed a program of geological mapping, geophysical surveys, geochemical sampling and three diamond drill holes. In 1971, Green Eagle Mines Ltd. completed a 3.2 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the Jamie claim. In 1972, North Wind Mines Ltd. conducted a program of line-cutting on the area as the P 1-20 claims. Three trenches were reported extending from the P 9, 11 and 12 claims.
In 1981, the Suey claims were staked over ground covered by the Sue claims and a geochemical survey was completed by Tenquille Resources Ltd. that covered the northeastern portion of the eastern Sue claims (Sue 6). The following year, an airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey was completed. In 1983, a further program of soil sampling and a ground electromagnetic survey was completed.
In September and October 1988, a 31.5 line-kilometre electromagnetic survey was completed on the Sue claim group by Fenway Resources Ltd. In 1990 and 1991, approximately 40 line-kilometres of grid was established on the Sue 1-5 claims and a program of soil sampling was undertaken by Placer Dome Inc. The former drillholes and trenches were located in the southwestern quadrant of the Sue 2 claim.
During 2008 through 2012, Bullion Gold Corp. completed programs of soil sampling, a 45.5 line-kilometre induced polarization survey and 1874.0 line-kilometres of airborne geophysical surveys on the area as a part of the Cariboo Goldfields and Horsefly properties.
