The MIDAS 4 showing is located approximately 4 kilometres north of the Blackdome Mine, at the headwaters of Porcupine Creek. The showing is approximately 69 kilometres northwest of Clinton and 90 kilometres south-southwest of Williams Lake, B.C.
The Midas showing is underlain by andesite and dacite belonging to an unnamed Eocene volcanic sequence. Opaline quartz veinlets and coarse crystalline quartz veining are reported on the property. Trenching has revealed a gold-bearing structure (unspecified) that assayed 3.43 grams per tonne gold and 5.66 grams per tonne silver over 1 metre (Assessment Report 20238, page 17). Refer to the nearby Blackdome property (MINFILE 092O 053) for further details of area geology.
In 2006, J-Pacific Gold Inc. conducted an aerial photograph survey of the area around the Blackdome mine (MINFILE 092O 053) which included the Midas showing.
