The placer occurrences in FAIRLESS CREEK are located in the Chilcotin Plateau, approximately 73 kilometres northwest of Clinton and 92 kilometres south-southwest of Williams Lake, B.C.
The Fairless Creek placer deposits lie approximately 3 kilometres downstream, to the west of the gold-bearing veins of Blackdome Mountain, a possible source of the gold in Fairless Creek. The auriferous gravels of Fairless Creek were tested in conjunction with the Borin Creek placer showing (092O 031).
During the period 1931 to 1940 recorded production from Fairless Creek is reported to be 1770 grams of gold from an unknown quantity of gravel (Bulletin 28, page 33).
A placer lease evaluation in the Fairless Creek and Meadow Creek areas was conducted on behalf of Blackdome Mining Corporation in 1986. No placer gold was observed in any of the creek sediment pan samples (Assessment Report 15672).
