The Rem occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 510 metres, north of the Artlish River and approximately 3.1 kilometres southeast of Moore Peak.

Regionally, the area lies within a broad northwest-trending sequence of interbedded sediments and volcanics of the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Parson Bay Formation (Bonanza Group) and Upper Triassic Quatsino Formation (Vancouver Group). This assemblage lies on the northeastern flank of the extensive granodiorite Zeballos intrusion phase of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite.

Locally, epidote-altered basaltic flows and breccias host quartz-carbonate veins, up to 1.8 metres wide, with pyrite and blebs of chalcopyrite mineralization.

In 1988, chip samples yielded 2.7 grams per tonne gold with 0.354 per cent copper over 0.3 metre and 1.8 grams per tonne gold with greater than 1.00 per cent copper over 1.8 metres, whereas a grab sample yielded 6.2 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18956). A float sample collected downstream of the vein(s) assayed 37.3 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18956).

In 1988, the area was prospected and sampled as the Rem claim.
