The Steve occurrence is located on Young Creek, a south flowing tributary of the Artlish River.
The area is underlain by Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group volcanic rocks. Albitized porphyritic, brecciated dacite is interbedded with massive andesite, trachytic porphyritic amygdaloidal andesite and tuff. The units have undergone some deformation and bear evidence of greenschist-amphibolite grade metamorphism.
No description of the mineralization was given but is assumed to be similar to that of the nearby Scrutor Gold (MINFILE 092L 100) occurrence.
In 2010, a chip sample, S204AC, assayed values of 7.597 grams per tonne gold, 11.4 parts per million silver and 1384 parts per million copper over 3.66 metres. The same year a grab sample, SCR001, at a different section of the showing, assayed 901 parts per billion gold and 0.248 per cent copper (Assessment Report 31961).
Work History
During 1985 through 1987, MineQuest Exploration completed programs of geological mapping and geochemical sampling on the area as the Scrutor 1-4 claims. In 1989, the area was prospected by Lone Trail Prospecting Limited. In 1998, Rex Ventures completed a program of rock sampling. In 2007, Grande Portage Resources completed a prospecting program of geological mapping and rock and soil sampling. During 2010 through 2014, Goldenlode Resources completed programs of geological mapping, prospecting and geochemical sampling on the area as the Artlish Two claim.
