The New Destiny occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 420 metres on a north-facing slope, south of Harvey Cove and approximately 1.2 kilometres southwest of the western arm of Le Mare Lake.

The area is entirely underlain by Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group intermediate to felsic volcanic flows and pyroclastics. The rocks have undergone low-grade metamorphism as exhibited by the presence of zeolite and laumontite.

Locally, pervasive chlorite-, hematite- and potassic-altered mafic volcanic rocks (andesites?) and rhyodacites dikes host banded veins containing quartz-magnetite-hematite-chalcopyrite±bornite. The zone has been traced along 180 metres of road cut outcrop. Farther to the east, rocks with blebs of massive chalcopyrite-pyrite-bornite mineralization have been noted, whereas southwest of the New Destiny zone, a rusty fault zone is exposed next to a creek in a rhyodacite porphyry hosting banded quartz-magnetite-hematite-chalcopyrite±bornite veins. To the north and south of the New Destiny zone massive mafic volcanics hosts sporadic banded±sheeted quartz-chalcopyrite±magnetite±bornite veins.

In 2010, a chip sample from the main New Destiny zone returned 2.34 per cent copper, 1.97 grams per tonne gold and 9.0 grams per tonne silver over 0.9 metre (Assessment Report 31412).

In 2011, trenching and 3-metre-wide chip sampling on the main New Destiny zone returned values averaging 0.25 per cent copper over 180 metres (Assessment Report 33246).

In 2017, four grab samples (NDD17-01 to -04) taken in the immediate vicinity of the 2011 chip sampling yielded values from 0.30 to 3.94 per cent copper, trace to 0.15 gram per tonne gold and 1.0 to 3.6 grams per tonne silver (Lennan, W.B. [2018-08-08]: Technical Report on the Le Mare Copper-Gold Property; Assessment Report 37248).

In 2018, drillhole LLG-18-02, located approximately 450 metres west-southwest of the main New Destiny zone, yielded 0.256 per cent copper over 1.5 metres (15.0 to 16.5 metres down hole; Assessment Report 38028).

In 2019, chip samples (LL20001 through LL20011) from a shear zone, exposed a short distance east of the main New Destiny zone, yielded an average of 0.699 per cent copper over 3.6 metres, including 2.075 per cent copper over 0.90 metre (Assessment Report 39245).

Work History

In 1979, the Le Mare claims were first staked and prospected the following year by Brinco. In 1998, Phelps Dodge completed a program of prospecting on the Lem property. In 2007, Homegold Resources completed a program of prospecting and geochemical sampling on the Farwest claims. Between 2008 and 2012, New Destiny Mining completed various programs of geological mapping, prospecting and geochemical sampling on the Le Mare claims. The occurrence was discovered in 2009 and trenched in 2011. In 2014, a small program of geological mapping, prospecting and examination of workings was conducted by J.T. Shearer, the property owner. In 2016, J.T. Shearer completed a further program of geological mapping on the Le Mare property. The property was examined in 2017 by W.B. Lennan on the behalf of Le Mare Gold Corp. Also at this time, J.T. Shearer completed a minor program of rock sampling and a 6.1 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the Le Mare property. The following year, Le Mare Lake Gold Corp completed two diamond drill holes, totalling 304.8 metres, on the New Destiny occurrence of the Le Mare property. In 2020, J.T. Shearer completed a minor program of rock sampling and a 5.8 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the Le Mare property.
