The Roger's Creek (Target II) occurrence is located on the northwest side of Rogers Creek, approximately 9 kilometres north-northwest of the creek mouth.
The area is underlain by Miocene intrusions (Rogers Creek Pluton), presumed coeval Crevasse Crag Volcanics, all within the Coast Plutonic Complex and Cadwallader Terrane.
Locally, an 80 by 100-metre area of silica-chlorite-sericite altered hornblende diorite, located within a larger area of propylitic (pyrite-carbonate-chlorite-epidote) alteration, hosts disseminated chalcopyrite and lesser pyrite with rare chalcopyrite-pyrite veins, up to 1 centimetre wide, associated with a 340-degree trending structural zone.
In 1985, a grab sample (R-65958) of rusty granodiorite with pyrite along fractures assayed 0.42 per cent copper and 10.0 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 14119).
In 2007, a sample of mineralized vein material assayed 8.1 per cent copper and 0.022 per cent molybdenum (Assessment Report 30223).
In 2011, three diamond drill holes were completed and yielded values up to 0.1 gram per tonne gold and 0.052 per cent copper over 8.7 metres from hole MRC-005. A channel sample taken along surface mineralization yielded 1.958 grams per tonne gold, 0.573 per cent copper and 13.7 grams per tonne silver over 9.12 metres (Assessment Report 33441).
In 2012, a rock sample (87623J) of mineralized chlorite-hornblende diorite assayed 3.904 grams per tonne gold, 42 grams per tonne silver and 1.31 per cent copper (Wood, P.C. (2013-12-31): 2013 Technical Summary Report on the Rogers Creek Property).
Work History
In 1983, Placer Development completed a program of rock, silt and soil sampling on the area as the Cloud claim. In 1985, Noranda completed a program of geological mapping and rock and soil sampling on the area as the RC 1-2 claims.
During 2007 through 2009, Wallbridge Mining Company completed programs of rock, silt and soil sampling, geological mapping and airborne and ground geophysical surveys on the area as the Roger Creek property.
During 2010 through 2012, Miocene Metals completed programs of rock, silt and soil sampling, airborne geophysical surveys and 7 diamond drill holes, totalling 3086.4 metres.
During 2013 through 2017, Carube Copper Corp. examined the area as the Rogers Creek property. In 2015, a program of soil sampling was completed on the I and IV zones and a 6 line-kilometre induced polarization survey was completed on the I zone. In 2016, a reconnaissance soil sampling program was performed along a newly build logging road in the area.
