The MM showing is located at an elevation of approximately 1520 metres on a southeast facing slope, west Skuhun Creek and approximately 5.5 kilometres southwest of the southwest end of Chataway Lake.

The area lies in the southern part of the central core of the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Guichon Creek Batholith which is comprised of Bethsaida phase quartz monzonite to granodiorite intruded by swarms of slightly younger porphyritic dikes. Less than 2 kilometres to the south, a major fault trends east along Shukun Creek. Approximately 4 kilometres to the west is the north trending Lornex fault which bisects the batholith. Sericitic, carbonate and potassic alteration and disseminated copper mineralization are associated with these faults.

Bulldozer trenches (1966) expose a major fault zone striking 015 degrees. Associated with the shear is abundant sericite and minor malachite. The granodiorite contains strongly fractured quartz veins up to 50 centimetres in width. These veins strike east, dip steeply and carry bornite, malachite and chalcopyrite. Red zeolites (heulandite?) also occur.

Work History

During 1965 through 1967, Oro Mines Ltd. completed programs of soil sampling, trenching and an induced polarization survey on thee area as the MM, Price and Rob claims. Also in 1966, San Jose Mines Ltd. completed a soil sampling program on the area immediately west as the Alamo and San Jose claims.

In 1969, Tyner Lake Mines Ltd. completed a 268.3 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey and a 122.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the area. Also in 1969, San Jose Mines Ltd. completed a 93.0 line-kilometre airborne magnetic survey on the Alamo and San Jose claims.

In 1972, Oro Mines Ltd. completed a 104.0 line-kilometre airborne electromagnetic, magnetic and radiometric survey on the area. In 1974, a 26.0 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey was completed on the area as the Jane claim. In 1976, Grandora Explorations Ltd. completed a program of geological mapping and a 24.0 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the Jane claim.

In 1981, Cominco Ltd. completed an induced polarization survey and a ground magnetic survey on the area immediately east of the occurrence as the Apollo and Nova claims.

In 2000, Highland Valley Mines completed a 160.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey was completed on the area as the Sku-Leo property.
