The Rainy showing is located in the eastern head waters of Cedarflat Creek, at elevation of approximately 1570 metres.
The area is underlain by a series of sediments of the Cretaceous Pasayten Group.
Mineralization consists of massive sphalerite, pyrite and pyrrhotite in a quartz gangue. Minor amounts of chalcopyrite and magnetite have also been observed. The mineralization on surface occurs parallel to foliation, in rusty black phyllites interbedded with conglomerates.
In 1967, Craigmont Mines completed a program of soil sampling, geological mapping and an 8.7 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the Rainy claims.
In 1980, Noranda completed a program of soil sampling, geological mapping and ground geophysical surveys, totalling 10 line-kilometres, on the area as the C.F. claims, Cedarflat property. The same year, two drill holes, totalling 112.28 metres, were completed on the property in order to test an anomalous zone and determined that it was caused by weak pyrrhotite-sphalerite-pyrite carbonate veinlets. The veinlets are narrow (less than 2 millimetres) and occur at infrequent intervals. A 1- metre drill interval yielded 1.42 per cent zinc, 0.02 per cent copper, 3 grams per tonne silver and 0.07 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 8884).
