The various showings compose the Conglin Creek occurrence outcrop along the east side of Missezula Lake, north and south of Conglin Creek, over approximately 1000 metres along a north-northwest trend.
The area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group (Eastern Volcanic Facies), which have been intruded by Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic primarily granodioritic rocks.
Locally, chalcopyrite, pyrite, minor bornite and possibly chalcocite occurs as veinlets and fine disseminations in small fracture zones in andesitic to basaltic flows and pyroclastics of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group (Eastern Belt, Bulletin 69). This mineralization is developed along the west flank of a northwest-trending body of Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic monzonite and syenite, some 2 kilometres in length. Chalcocite is also reported. Malachite accompanies this mineralization in several places.
At least eight zones of mineralization are reported to have been identified by 1973. A chip sample from one of these zones is reported to have yielded 0.25 per cent copper over 13.4 metres (Assessment Report 4694, page 3).
In 1985, a sample (K2022R) yielded 0.08 gram per tonne gold, 7.1 grams per tonne silver and 3.71 per cent copper (Assessment Report 14141, Figure 12).
In 2005, five grab samples (KG 1 through KG 5) taken northwest of Conglin Creek yielded from 0.21 to 1.989 per cent copper, whereas later that year three grab samples (I, II, III), taken from three separate outcrops located southeast of Conglin Creek and the previous samples, yielded from 0.274 to 10.5 per cent copper and 2.8 to 335.0 grams per tonne silver (Property File 895128 and 895134). The samples are reported to possibly be related to a northwest-southeast–trending fault or shear zone as indicated by magnetic data.
Work History
In 1973, Scope Explorations Services Ltd. completed a program of soil sampling and a 12.1 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the Miss claims.
In 1985, Vanco Explorations Ltd. completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical (rock and soil) sampling on the area as the Thor 10-11 claims. In 1986, the area was staked as the Kara property by B.K. Bowen.
Also, during 1986 through 1991, Fairfield Minerals Ltd. completed reconnaissance programs of rock, silt and soil sampling on the area as the Vin 1-19 claims. This work identified a southeast-trending 2100 by 800 metre area of anomalous copper in soils to the northeast of Missezula Lake in the area of the Conglin Creek occurrences.
In 2005, Katie Gold Corp. completed a program of geological mapping, trenching, minor rock sampling and an 18.25-line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the Missezula Lake property.
In 2012, Questex Gold and Copper Ltd. completed a program of geochemical (rock and soil) sampling and an 18.4-line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the area as the Hit Aspen Grove North property.
