The Lorry showing is located approximately 2.5 kilometres southeast of the south end of Dillard Lake and 9 kilometres northeast of the north end of Rampart Lake.
Regionally, the area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Nicola group and granitic intrusive rocks of the Middle Jurassic Osprey Lake batholith.
Locally, minor amounts of pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite occur as disseminations and fracture fillings in bedded tuffs and thin porphyritic flows of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group (Eastern belt, Bulletin 69). This mineralization is developed immediately northwest of the contact with medium grained porphyritic granodiorite of the Middle Jurassic Osprey Lake batholith. The volcanics contain epidote and garnet near the contact.
Work History
In 1972, Noranda Mining and Exploration Inc. completed a program of soil sampling and a 19.5 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the Lorry and SP claims.
During 1987 through 1991, Fairfield Minerals Ltd. completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, trenching and ground geophysical surveys on the area as the Dill property. In all, five anomalous gold trends and two copper-gold zones were defined on the property (Assessment Report 21198).
On August 31, 2011, Fjordland Exploration Inc. signed an option agreement with private vendors to purchase 100% interest in the 2,200-hectare Dillard claims (www.fjorlandex.com). In September 2011, a program consisting of prospecting and rock geochemistry was completed on the Dillard property.
In 2012, Fjordland Exploration Inc. completed a 11.0-line-kilometre induced polarization survey and a 23.3 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey on the area as the Dillard property.
In 2013, Fjordland Exploration completed a 293.0-line-kilometre airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, a 45.3 line-kilometre ground magnetic and induced polarization survey and seven diamond drillholes, totalling 2636.1 metres, were completed on the Dillard property.
In 2014, Fjordland Exploration Inc. completed a program of geological mapping, soil sampling, trenching and 14 diamond drillholes, totalling 5305.0 metres, on the Dillard property. The following year, a program of prospecting, geological mapping and rock sampling was completed on the property.
