The Regina (L.55G) occurrence is located east of Williams Creek, approximately 1 kilometres north- north east of Lizard Lake.

The area is crossed by the apparently subvertical, sinistral, northerly-trending Mineral Creek fault/shear zone which isolates mostly Karmutsen Formation basaltic pillowed flows and breccias on its western side. The north westerly trending North Cowichan reverse fault isolates mostly Duck Lake and Nitinat formation units on its eastern side. The former unit consists of primarily basaltic pillowed and massive flows; the latter is mostly basaltic to andesitic agglomerates to tuffs and breccias. The south-central triangular slice of land that lies between the two faults holds a complex mix of Duck Lake Formation rocks, McLaughlin Ridge Formation massive tuffites with thin beds of argillite, Mount Mark Formation limestone beds with minor argillite and chert, and Mount Hall gabbroic intrusions.

In the 1890’s, work done on a crown grant consisted of at least 8 adits driven into green andesite to explore the tight quartz-sulphide lenses and veins found within. One adit sunk on a tight shear partly filled by quartz, strikes 050 degrees and dips 20 degrees southeast. Quartz-chalcopyrite-galena veins up to 5 centimetres and quartz stringers up to 13 centimetres are observed. The andesite is highly silicified and pyritized One grab sample returned 22.6 grams per tonne gold and 480.0 grams per tonne silver. One 60 centimetre sample assayed 0.69 gram per tonne gold and 27.43 grams per tonne silver.

In 1987, Westmin Resources Limited conducted a nine hole drill program immediately adjacent to the crown grants. Mineralization in the drill core consists of basalts hosting quartz veins containing massive pyrite and chalcopyrite with specks of sphalerite. A 1-metre interval returned a value of 1.41 grams per tonne gold. Another 1-metre sample returned a value of 2 per cent copper (Assessment Report 16144).

From 2003 through 2005, the area was explored by B. Hanslit as the Big Southeastern claim. Exploration programs included prospecting, geochemical sampling and three diamond drill hole, totalling 261.8 metres. From 2006 through 2010, Bitterroot Resources Ltd. completed exploration programs of geological mapping, geochemical sampling and one hundred and eight diamond drill holes, totalling 19,931.7 metres. This work identified the Big Southeastern occurrence to the south west.
