The Nomash occurrence is located on a peak in the eastern head waters of the Little Zeballos River, approximately 7.5 kilometres north- north west of Tahsis.
The area is underlain by northwest trending argillites and carbonates of the Upper Triassic Vancouver Group Parson Bay Formation which is in contact with Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group volcanics. These rocks have been intruded by granodiorite of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite and/or the Eocene Catface Intrusions.
Mineralization, as described in Geological Survey of Canada Memoir 272 (page 56) is present over an area of 3.0 to 5.0 metres, about 16 metres from the intrusive contact. Sediments of the Parson Bay Formation or Bonanza Group are replaced by skarn which hosts scattered chalcopyrite. Heavy staining by azurite and malachite is present. In 1981, a sample assayed 0.061 per cent copper, 0.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.035 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 10659).
In 1981, C.A. Beach prospected the area as the Water claim. The area was previously staked as the Jaina 1 and 2 claims. In 2007, Grande Portage Resources completed a regional geochemical program on the area as the Cherry Property. In 2011, Gold Ridge Exploration completed a regional geochemical sampling program on the Tahsis Property.
In 2013 and 2015, Mammoth Geological Ltd. completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical (rock, stream sediment and soil) sampling on the North Block (including the Nomash) and South Block of the Tahsis property for Sojourn Ventures Inc. The 2013 soil program returned high values of 1.67 grams per tonne Au, 0.16 per cent Cu in Karmutsen volcanics near the Nomash showing, also referred to as Target A.
In 2017, Qualitas Holdings Corp. completed a minor program of rock sampling on the Tahsis property and Mammoth Geological Ltd. completed a NI43-101 Technical Report for the Tahsis property. In 2018 and 2019, Cross River Ventures Corp. completed a program of soil sampling and a 5.5 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the Tahsis property. In 2020 Mammoth Geological Ltd. conducted a geochemical assessment on the Tahsis Property (Assessment Report 39714).
