The LJ showing is located approximately 37 kilometres north of Revelstoke and 45 kilometres west of Golden.

An interval of interlaminated, very fine grained quartzite (metachert?) and black graphitic phyllite, at least 15 metres thick and up to approximately 30 metres in structural thickness where it has been thickened by folding, is exposed to the west, in the headwaters of McKinnon Creek, in a separate panel of black phyllite. Within this siliceous unit, 4 to 5 metres of gossan contains fine-grained, laminated pyrite and sphalerite and massive sulphide lenses up to 30 centimetres thick and approximately 1 metre long. The massive sulphide lenses contain pyrite, galena, arsenopyrite, possible sphalerite and minor chalcopyrite and nodular quartz. A 10 centimetre layer of white, fine-grained crystalline barite is present at one locality in the black phyllite unit.

The showing was originally discovered in 1995 during a regional mapping program by the British Columbia Geological Survey.

In 1997, Weymin Resouces Ltd. staked the showing after test sampling the mineralization.

In 1999, Weymin Resources Ltd. completed geological mapping and rock sampling. Highlights include sample 99-LOC-5, which assayed 6.91 per cent lead, 9.45 per cent zinc and 3.6 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 26063).

The claims were dropped in 2000, and subsequently staked by Cross Lake Minerals Ltd.

In 2001, Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. completed an initial exploration program of geological mapping and geochemical sampling. Highlights include chip sample 347404, which assayed 5.9 per cent zinc and 4.56 per cent lead over a 2.5 metre width (Assessment Report 26777).

In 2002 and 2003, Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. completed additional programs of geological mapping and geochemical sampling. Highlights include rock chip sample 178172, taken in 2003, which assayed 6.91 per cent lead, 14.17 per cent zinc and 10.6 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 27333).

In 2004, Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. conducted a UTEM geophysical survey over the area.

In 2005, the claims were converted from legacy claims to cell claims and Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. completed a diamond drill program totalling 769.79 metres. Highlights include drillhole LJ-05-2, which intersected a 15 metre section (estimated true thickness of 11 metres) that assayed 6.81 per cent zinc, 2.69 per cent lead and 3.93 grams per tonne silver, including a 5 metre section that assayed 10.7 per cent zinc, 4.9 per cent lead and 9.4 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 28232).

In 2005, the property was acquired by Selkirk Metals Corp. from Cross Lake Minerals Ltd.

In 2006, the property was optioned to Consolidated Venturex Holdings Ltd., who completed prospecting, silt and rock sampling, geological mapping, UTEM geophysical surveys and diamond drilling consisting of 10 holes totaling 1576 metres. In 2007, the company completed additional geological and geochemical sampling and diamond drilling consisting of 12 holes totaling 2557 metres. Highlights include drillhole 07-14, which returned a 3.9 metre section assaying 6.13 per cent zinc, 2.17 per cent lead and 1.54 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 29676). In 2008, Consolidated Venturex Holdings Ltd. dropped their option on the property.

In 2010, Selkirk Metals Corp. completed a geochemical sampling program. Highlights include sample LJ-18-05, which assayed 19.03 per cent zinc, 4.85 per cent lead and 5.2 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 32010). In 2012, the company conducted an exploration program of geochemical sampling, geological mapping and prospecting.
