Capsule Geology

Large masses of quartz, containing low grade mineralization, occur in phyllites of the Lardeau Group.

In 1899, it was reported that two nice-looking leads (veins) ran through the property. At that time the property, which is located just north of Mineral Hill on the Fish River slope, consisted of seven claims. The Ishpeming Fr. (L.6557) and Houghton (L.6556), part of the Kingston group, were Crown-granted to United Kingston Gold Mines Ltd. in 1908. The Kingston (L.6558), Maggie R. (L.6553), Tongue (L.6555), Pittock Fr. (L.6559) were Crown-granted to the same company in 1909.
