The DA Vent occurrence is located approximately 1.9 kilometres east of the northern end of Negro Lake.
The area is underlain by clastic rocks of the Helikian Purcell Supergroup. The units are dominantly siliclastic sedimentary rocks of the Lower and Middle Aldridge formations. The fragmental rocks are albitized, sericitized and contain scattered tourmaline alteration.
Pyrrhotite, sphalerite and galena occur locally as disseminations. A vent complex measures 450 by 100 metres.
In 2002, diamond drilling intersected 1.0 metre averaging 0.045 per cent lead and 0.034 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 26927).
The area of the DA Vent property was previously held by Cominco Ltd. Specific details of Cominco’s exploration work near the DA vent is unknown. During 1998 through 2001, Ascot Resources, in conjunction with Super Group Holding, completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical sampling and a 2.5 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the area as the Da Vent property. Subsequently, it was optioned to Klondike Gold Corp, who took over operation in 2002 and drilled 1171.3 metres in one diamond drill hole. In late 2013 and early 2014, PJX Resources completed a gravity survey on the area.
