The Vine 55 showing is located near Kiakho Creek, approximately 2.7 kilometres south of the southern end of Kiakho Lakes.

The area is situated on the eastern limb of a localized, north- plunging anticline within sediments of the Helikian Middle Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup).

Locally, a vein strikes about 135 degrees with a near vertical dip. This is similar to veins at the Nord (082GSW001) and Vine 1 (082GSW050) showings. The host stratigraphy also contains several diorite sills of the Proterozoic Moyie Intrusions near this showing.

Mineralization consists of galena, sphalerite, and some chalcopyrite within a fracture that crosscuts the gently, northeast dipping strata.

During 1966 through 1968, Placid Oil completed a program of geological mapping, a 160.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey, a 20.8 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey, and 128.2 line-kilometres of ground magnetic surveys on the area (Assessment Reports 863, 1043, 1174, 1207, 1244). In 1978, Cominco completed a program of geological mapping (Assessment Report 7087).

In 1984, John Leask carried out geological mapping and a magnetotelluric survey in the area (Assessment Report 12930, 16697). In 1988, Goldpac Investments Ltd. completed one diamond drill hole, totalling 3000 metres, approximately 1 kilometre to the west-northwest and at an elevation of 1350 metres (Assessment Report 17886, *18407). The drillhole (Bar 88-2) intersected, from 4 to 1400 metres, a repetitive succession of quartz wacke turbidites typical of the Middle Aldridge Formation. Two Moyie gabbro sills were encountered at 100 to 150 metres and 350 to 425 metres, respectively. A significant increase in sulphide content is noted from 1250 to 1490 metres and consisted of disseminated pyrrhotite, pyrite, sphalerite, and pyrrhotite-sphalerite-galena veinlets. No assays of the core were provided.

In 1989 and 1990, White Knight Resources completed programs of geophysical surveys and six diamond drill holes, totalling 788.9 metres, on the area as the Vine 55 claim (Assessment Report 20065). In late 2013 and early 2014, PJX Resources completed a gravity survey on the area (Assessment Report 34937).

In 2013/2014, PJX Resources Inc began a large program of gravity and magnetic geophysical surveying to detect dense subsurface features (Assessment Reports 34082, 34937, 35416). The gravity survey extended 10 kilometres beyond the West Basin property claim boundaries encompassing several MINFILE occurrences including the Vine 55 (Figure 8, Assessment Report 34082).
