The Don occurrence is underlain by outcrops of calcareous argillite of the Helikian Gateway Formation (Purcell Supergroup) and these are exposed in the vicinity of the Don showing. The stratigraphy generally strikes 030 degrees with a near vertical dip. The showing consists of chalcopyrite on fracture surfaces and as disseminations in quartzite (1976 drill hole) (Assessment Report 5906). Chalcopyrite, malachite and hematite in a fissure vein with a gangue of quartz-siderite-barite is also reported in a 1997 report; the vein is about ten metres wide, striking north-westerly with a southwesterly dip (Property File Document (PFD 676699). The latter is exposed in an old shaft and in trenches.
Percussion Holes 05.1.91 and 05.2.91 were sited on the postulated hanging-wall side of the Don zone along strike projected to the northwest. D5.2.91 was collared 6.5 metres on a bearing 107 degrees from a caved inclined(?) shaft situated 32 metres northwest of a stope or winze access to a stope which itself was 4.5 metres northeast of an inclined shaft (dipping at 60 degrees) on a 130-degree trend. Both holes were successful in that they intersected a zone (or zones) of quartz-siderite veining with varying amounts of sulphides of copper, iron and zinc.

WORK HISTORY
In 1971, soil grid survey was conducted for Rio Alto Exploration Ltd. on their Sand Creek prospect (Area B), southwest of Sand Creek Iron prospect (082GSW026) (Assessment Report 3439). The survey located one major area of interest with coincident values in copper, lead, zinc, and silver. The soil grid was completed over or near the Mountain (082GSW047), Jessie (082GSW014), Peacock Copper (082GSW017), and Don (082GSW048) areas.
In 1976, one diamond-drill hole (76-6) totaling 145.9 metres was completed on the Treasure Group for R.H. Stanfield (Assessment Report 5906).
In 1982 an airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey was carried out over large parts of the Bull River property on behalf of owner/operator R.H. Stanfield. Eight target areas were identified (Assessment Report 10570). The Dogwood 11 claim that contains occurrence was part of the surveyed area.
In 1987, on behalf of R.H. Stanfield (Assessment Report 17813) Drill hole D5-1-87 was drilled vertically to a depth of 183.7 metres and was 600 metres northwest of the previous drill hole 76-6.
In 1991, percussion drillholes D5.1.91, and D5.2.91 were drilled to depths of 61.85 metres on the Dogwood 5 claim (Don showing area) on behalf of R.H. Stanfield (Assessment Report 21737).
In 1992 a helicopter borne DIGHEM survey over the Balsam, Cedar and Dogwood claims of R.H. Stanfield (Bul River Mineral Corporation Ltd.) was completed but appears to be just to the southwest of the Ross 2 occurrence (Assessment Report 23012).
In 1996 and 1997, exploration by Gallowai Metal Mining Corporation and Bul River Mineral Corporation Ltd. was conducted on the Stanfield group of claims (Property File Document (PFD 676699).
In 2016, Purcell Basin Mineral completed 16.0 line-kilometres of geochemical surveying on grid covering the Peacock Copper (082GSW017) and Don (082GSW048) occurrences (Assessment Report 36586).
In 2017, an NI43-101 technical report for Purcell Basin Minerals Inc. processed and published Dighem airborne survey data from 1991-1997 surveys (Assessment Report 37195).
In 2018, Purcell Basin Mineral completed 6.5-line-kilometres of geochemical surveying on the Don grid (Assessment Report 37660).
