The Palmayra showing is located near a tributary of Spirit Creek, itself a tributary of the Wildhorse River, approximately 32.5 kilometres northeast of Kimberley.
At the Palmayra showing, galena and pyrite occur in quartz veins. Development work was reported as five tunnels and a shaft. A lower adit intersects a steeply dipping, highly faulted and fractured Cretaceous syenite dyke with fractures filled by quartz. Vein quartz in fractures contain minor galena and pyrite but do not cross into host Helikian Middle Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup) argillites. Upper workings expose flat-lying quartz veins 3 to 9 metres wide which are shattered and faulted. The vein locally lies at the margin of a flat-lying syenite dike. Galena is abundant locally and accompanied by lesser sphalerite, tetrahedrite, pyrite and some anglesite. Sampling was conducted in the Palmayra area in conjunction with work done on the Spirit mineral occurrence (082GNW095). Some of the more significant work is reported in Assessment Reports 27505, 28268, 28643.
WORK HISTORY
In 2004, Ruby Red Resources conducted mapping and prospecting on the H.D. 1-6, S.D. 1-14 and Spirit Dream 1-4 which covered ground on the east side of Wildhorse Creek from the Boulder Creek tributary north to, and west of, Victoria Creek where the claims then cross Wildhorse Creek to cover Spirit and Palmayra occurrences at the north end of the claim group. Three grab samples were collected (P04-12A, 12B and 12C) (Assessment Report 27505).
During 2005 through 2009, Ruby Red Resources Inc. completed programs of rock and soil sampling, geological mapping, trenching and a 4.5 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic (VLF) survey on the area (Assessment Reports 28268, 28643).
In 2010 and 2011, the area was explored as a part of the Dewdney Trail Gold project of PJX Resources Inc. Past exploration efforts on the showing included prospecting, soil geochemistry, rock sampling, VLF-EM, magnetic surveys, IP surveys, hand trenching, and diamond drilling (Assessment Reports 32758, 32868).
In 2016 to 2019, PJX Resources Inc. conducted geological mapping and rock geochemistry sampling on the Dewdney Trail Property (Assessment Reports 36649, 38859).
