The Hungary Man (L.4083) occurrence is located on the west side of Connor Creek, a tributary of Rover Creek and approximately 20 kilometres southwest of Nelson.

The area has been mapped as being underlain by limestone, slate, siltstone and argillite of the Lower Jurassic Ymir Group. Locally, a pendant of feldspar porphyry andesite of the Lower Jurassic Elise Formation, Rossland Group occurs in diorite to granodiorite of the Middle Jurassic Bonnington Pluton.

The Hungary Man occurrence consists of sulphides in lenses up to 7 metres across and up to greater than 30 metres in length. These zones trend north-south, parallel to the local structure, striking 340 degrees and dipping 08 degrees north. Mineralization consists of massive to semi-massive sulphides in a schistose volcanosedimentary sequence. Sulphides comprise pyrrhotite, pyrite and minor chalcopyrite in quartz gangue. There are indications that the mineralization continues for at least 300 metres. The mineralization appears to be concentrated along the andesite-diorite contact in mineralized shear and breccia zones. This is possibly a Besshi-type deposit. Similar mineralization occurs on the adjacent Connor and Anne-Marie claims.

In 1967, a grab sample yielded 16.4 grams per tonne gold and 0.24 per copper (Property File - T. Seminiuk [1968-03-15]: Property Submission, Tony Semeniuk).

In 1968, a chip sample (Y258) from the Connor Creek property assayed 10.3 grams per tonne gold, 12.0 grams per tonne silver and 0.10 per cent copper over 1.2 metres (Property File - J.R. Williams and Son Ltd. [1968-04-02]: Certificate of Assay - 302330/336 - Cyprus Explorations Ltd. - Connor Creek Prospect).

In 1988, a channel sample (#10133) from an exposure along Connor Creek assayed 4.42 grams per tonne gold and 2.4 grams per tonne silver over 1 metre (Assessment Report 18518).

The Hungry Man (L.4083) claim was Crown granted in 1900 and two shafts and a crosscut were subsequently developed. Other adits and a shaft are reported to the north on Connor Creek and to the west of the Hungry Man (L.4083) Crown grant.

In 1968, the area was prospected and sampled by Cyprus Explorations Ltd. During 1979 through 1981, Cominco Ltd. completed programs of ground geophysical surveys and seven drill holes, totalling 286 metres, on the area as the Connor claims. During 1987 through 1989, Cream Silver Mines, in conjunction with Noramex Minerals Inc., completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical sampling, trenching and ground geophysical surveys on the area. Results from a soil sampling program on the Anne-Marie claim to the north were reported to be interesting.

The Conrau property was owned and prospected by Tom Kennedy in 2003. The property is reported by Kennedy to cover two occurrences—Debbie (MINFILE 082FSW356) and Root (MINFILE 082FSW303)—and surrounds a third, the Hungry Man occurrence. The property also hosts many undocumented small adits and pits, presumably worked on from the turn of the last century. In 2004, Kootenay Gold Corp. collected 39 rock on the Conrau property (presumably optioned from Kennedy) and analyzed for gold and trace elements. Elevated gold values were found in all 4 samples in the Magnetite adit area, which is located approximately 1 kilometre to the west of the Root occurence in the area of the Hungry Man occurrence.
