The Silver Crown occurrence is located approximately 5 kilometres west of Oliver.

Mesothermal lode gold-silver quartz vein mineralization in the Fairview gold belt is hosted within a Carboniferous to Permian Kobau Group poly-deformed and greenschist-facies metamorphosed, banded quartzite unit. Mineralization occurs as pyrite, arsenopyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and native gold. The Silver Crown deposit comprises three closely spaced northwest-striking and moderately northeast-dipping quartz veins. The gold-quartz veins in the area appear to be strongly related to large scale faulting.

Exploration on the Silver Crown claim began in 1890 when it was part of the Fairview claims group, along with Stemwinder and Brown Bear (MINFILE 082ESW007), Morning Star (MINFILE 082ESW006) and Fairview (MINFILE 082ESW008). Stemwinder (MINFILE 082ESW007), Morning Star (MINFILE 082ESW006) and Fairview (MINFILE 082ESW008) were all intermittently mined from 1895 until 1961.

In 1897, 76.2 metres of cross-cut drifting and 30.5 metres of drifting in the veins were done on the Silver Crown claim (Minister of Mines, 1897).

In 1908, Mr. Mangott and Mr. McEachern conducted considerable work on the Silver Crown mineral claim, though details of the work and results are not available (Minister of Mines, 1910).

In 1923, Mr. Mangott took a vein sample from Silver Crown that assayed 21.9 grams per tonne gold, 411.4 grams per tonne silver and 9 per cent zinc (Minister of Mines, 1923).

In 1924, a lease and bond was taken on the claims by an unnamed Vancouver interest, who cleaned up surface workings and commenced underground work on the Silver Crown claim. This included the extension of the Silver Crown tunnel, widening of the vein and sampling that returned reported assays of 10.97 grams per tonne gold and 171.4 grams per tonne silver (Minister of Mines, 1924).

In 1961, Cominco completed four trenches on the Silver Crown claim.

In 1991, Oliver Gold Corp. drilled 21 holes along the Brown Bear (MINFILE 082ESW007), Morning Star (MINFILE 082ESW006) and Silver Crown claims. Highlights include drillhole SC91-17, which returned 0.51 metres (true thickness) grading 12.46 grams per tonne gold and 209.2 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 21501).

Throughout 1994, Oliver Gold Corp. completed a 3750.6-metre, 41-hole diamond drill program on the area near the Brown Bear (MINFILE 082ESW007) and Silver Crown adits. Highlights include drillhole SC94-1, which had visible gold and assayed 124.91 grams per tonne gold and 47.4 grams per tonne silver over 4.75 metres, including 1 metre grading 529.94 grams per tonne gold and 172.8 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 23899).

In 2012, Hi Ho Silver Resources Inc. acquired the Silver Crown property.

In 2013, Hi Ho Silver Resources Inc. released an NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate for the Silver Crown deposit which showed an inferred mineral resource of 334 000 tonnes grading 2.9 grams per tonne gold and 17.9 grams per tonne silver, calculated using a 1.0 gram per tonne gold cut-off grade (Press Release, Hi Ho Silver Resources Inc., May 8, 2013).

In 2014 and 2019, Hi Ho Silver Resources Inc. completed minor programs of rock sampling and structural analysis on the area as the Fairview property.

For regional geology and the history of the area, see Stemwinder and Brown Bear (MINFILE 082ESW007), Morning Star (MINFILE 082ESW006) and Fairview (MINFILE 082ESW008).
