The Strim area is underlain rocks of the Devonian to Permian Knob Hill Group intruded by rocks of both the Jurassic to Cretaceous Nelson and Eocene Coryell plutonic suites.
Several old shafts and trenches located in the Rim #7 claim expose disseminated pyrrhotite mineralization in diorite. The pyrrhotite ranges from 1-30 per cent. It is moderately magnetic. A few chunks of pyrite were found on the dumps in this area. No obvious structural control was noted with this mineralization.
The highest copper value obtained was 1.57 per cent from a sample of semi-massive (30%) pyrrhotite with greater than 5 per cent chalcopyrite collected from a shaft dump located in the south part of the Rim #8 claim; the sample also yielded 1.9 grams per tonne gold and 22.97 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 22516).
A program consisting of reconnaissance geologic mapping and rock sampling (22) was conducted between June 1991 and June 1992 on the Rim 1-18, Straw, Strawberry (L.1765) by Orvana Mineral Corp. Rock samples were collected from most of the known workings and from a few outcrops.
