The John Bull showing is located approximately 35 kilometres southwest of Castlegar, BC, on the east side of highway 3, about 14 kilometres northeast of Christina Lake, BC.
Granitic rocks of the Middle Jurassic Nelson Intrusions intrude volcanics, limestones and greenstones of the Carboniferous-Permian Mount Roberts Formation. These are cut by porphyritic syenites of the Eocene Coryell Plutonic Suite. Gold values (up to 5.13 grams per tonne) are related to quartz-calcite veining, propylitically altered diorite, quartz diorite, greenstone, andesite, brecciation and shear zones (Assessment Report 23713). Sulphide mineralization consists of pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, arsenopyrite and magnetite.
In 1992, Crown Resources Corp. conducted an airborne geophysics, ground magnetometry, soil sampling rock chip sampling and reverse circulation drilling. In 1994, Gold City Resources conducted geochemical sampling, ground magnetics and mapping and sampling of old trenches and adits.
After earning a 100 per cent stake in the Jumping Josephine property in 2014, Orex Minerals Ltd. conducted a prospecting, trenching, and drill program across the property, including work at MINFILEs 082ESE275, 082FSW408, 082FSW409, and a new MINFILE occurrence named BZT (082ESE289).
At the John Bull occurrence, referred to as the Golden Crown and Bonanza area, 2014 work consisted of 3 holes (1017 metres) drill at one site. Drilling targeted mineralized quartz veins and intersection several gold mineralized zones including 1 metre at 0.92 gram per tonne gold (44 to 45 metres downhole), and 3.83 metres at 0.75 gram per tonnes gold (190.17 to 194 metres downhole) in hole 14JD153. Drill hole 14JD155 intersected 2 metres at 0.62 gram per tonne gold (244 to 246 metres downhole) in quartz stockwork within silicified diorite (Assessment Report 35457).
